GQ Shatner interview

Hi, I've been looking through the Shatner tags all the way back to December last year, and couldn't find this posted anywhere, so I assumed you've missed out.
A friend linked me this interview with Shatner in GQ Magazine, and I think it's just brilliant.
While it does mention a few factual things about Shatner, it's more about the experience of being in his presence, and trust me, it seems like quite an experience.

The interview can be found here
, or under the cut.

The Long. Strange. Never-Boring Journey of a National Treasure (and yes, we know he's Canadian)Collapse )

He's a WAMPIRE!

HI All,

According to www.bloody-disgusting.com

Dear Anton is in the running to play Charlie Brewster in the Fright Night remake.

This begs the question....who would you want to play Jerry Dandridge the hottie vampire neighbor he must face?

If it had to be from Trekdom as well, HELL YES QUINTO....

(sorry I had a  moment)

EDIT:  Sorry mods I left out a G in the web address.)

Sony Pictures Animation/Columbia Pictures has released a press release announcing the beginning of production of the big screen CGI/live action hybrid 3D adaptation of The Smurfs. The release features a couple bits of new info:
- Anton Yelchin (Star Trek, Terminator Salvation) has joined the voice cast to play Clumsy Smurf
- Fred Armisen (SNL) will voice Brainy Smurf

We also get the first official plot synopsis:
When the evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village, they tumble from their magical world and into ours – in fact, smack dab in the middle of Central Park. Just three apples high and stuck in the Big Apple, the Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down.

Sounds like the storyline is a bit like Alvin and the Chipmunks meets Enchanted.

there's a tl;dr press release at the source, so I'll just copy and paste the relevant bits under hereCollapse )

I'm still waiting for the "new experience" they are planning so I can finally attend the Star Trek-themed Vegas wedding my friends have been dreaming about for years.

Star Trek comic review.

Remenber that Star Trek / X Men comic crossover? This guy here reviews bad comics in his page, to make fun of them... and now he's taking a shot at that one.
Being such a trekkie himself, hilarity is warranted. TOS episode summation, the characters voices... just watch it yourselves:
