Oregonians! Trek in the Park is back!

Trek in the Park RETURNS! This summer, we present Space Seed, an episode with one of the most classic and enduring villains to ever cross paths with Kirk and crew in the final frontier, KHAN.

A perfectly preserved, genetically enhanced warrior from the 20th century, Khan, is revived by the crew of the USS Enterprise upon discovering his adrift ship. They deduce Khan was the kind of 20th century leader who could have conquered the Earth in his time. However, not everyone is suspicious of Khan’s intentions, one such person is Lt. Marla McGivers, the ship’s historian. She is so moved by Khan’s glorious ambition, she assists him in hijacking the Enterprise to finish the conquest Khan Noonian Singh started 200 years ago. Will this be the last generation for the crew of the USS Enterprise?

MONDAY MEET-UP PLANNING POST/RECAP

MEET-UP PLANNING

This is the weekly post where members can plan meetups for movies, conventions, and misc events.

Just specify the city/country you're in and link to a post in your personal journal where your neighbors can plan the meetup with you. or else check out the list of communities dedicated to these meet-ups  under hereCollapse )

For upcoming Star Trek related conventions check here.

RECAP

For those of you who were able to document your meetups, please post your pics and recaps here, or better yet link to a post in your own LJ so that the comment pages here don't break the internet.

Last week, the USS Macchiato had promised to bring it. And boy, did they ever! mijan made a recap including her multiple close encounters with our GQMF Walter Koenig, sphynxle also contributed with a brief wrap up and cedarrapidsgirl shared some great pictures.

On Pinto land, tikra and clarkoholic met up in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, for some epic tinhattery.

Even if you didn't take any pictures, please feel free to recount the awesomeness of meeting with other GQMF's, any funny conversations or accidental meeting of other Star Trek geeks fans. lol

Do it!

Sequel Gossip

Earlier a couple of videos were post of Orci and Kurtzman talking about the sequel. At the same event was Bryan Burk, the producer. Trekmovie got an interview with him about the next movie and it has me equally excited and apprehensive.

Make it bigger, make it badder.Collapse )

This sounds promising. The constant reference to "making it bigger" has me worried as bigger doesn't necessarily mean better but the ideas they have seem like it might be a good thing. Here's hoping /fingers crossed.
