More Virgin Galatic News

You may remember a few months ago I made a post about Virgin Galatic's test flight's of the VMS Eve and the VSS Enterprise. There is a new update.

Galactic spacecraft makes crewed flight

A company working to send tourists on suborbital flights says it has tested its spacecraft with a crew for the first time.

Virgin Galactic says the craft remained attached to a specially designed airplane throughout a six-hour flight over California's Mojave desert on Thursday.

On its website, the company congratulated the crew and said "Objectives achieved".

It said the two crew members evaluated all of the spaceship's systems and functions.

Virgin Galactic says the flight test program will run through 2011 before it starts commercial operations.

This is the weekly post where members can plan meetups for movies, conventions, and misc events.

Just specify the city/country you're in and link to a post in your personal journal where your neighbors can plan the meetup with you. or else check out the list of communities dedicated to these meet-ups  Collapse )

For upcoming Star Trek related conventions check here.

RECAP

For those of you who were able to document your meetups, please post your pics and recaps here, or better yet link to a post in your own LJ so that the comment pages here don't break the internet.

Last week, there was no meetups, but plenty of organizing. Let's see what the results are this week.

Even if you didn't take any pictures, please feel free to recount the awesomeness of meeting with other GQMF's, any funny conversations or accidental meeting of other Star Trek geeks fans. lol

Do it!

London Film and Comic Convention (aka the Shatner comes to town)

This past weekend was the London Film and Comic Convention (LFCC) starring among (many, many, many) others William Shatner.

I know quite a few people from this community went to see him (including me), so this is your chance to share photos, Shatner epicness, videos and recount meeting other ontd_startrekers.

For those of you who couldn't make it, come and have a look at all the shenanigans our GQMFs got into.

I recommend you don't post all your photos here, but share a few and link up to your journal/youtube/etc.

Let the epicness begin...
