Social Technologies Club Colloquium (Twitter Roundup)

The Social Technologies Club of Starfleet Academy is proud to present our weekly colloquium!  This week's topic is:

Public Microblogging by Figures of Note: A Comparison of Form and Content

This is a roundtable discussion, so all members and guests are encouraged to contribute their own analyses in the comments.  Subjects may include, but are not limited to:IMPORTANT: The Dean has asked me to announce that graduation (aka PARTY POST) will begin at 8pm GMT on Saturday and continue into the wee hours.  All cadets are required to attend. ;)

Starfleet Academy Zoology Study Group?

Majoring in Zoology or interested in the subject? Join the study group!

Participate in the comments by introducing yourself, what you find interesting about zoology, and the prospect of being a galactic zoologist (or attempt to draw your favourite ST creature in MS Paint, etc.).

To help get you started, I've made some worksheets.

Welcome To Starfleet Fencing Club!

Welcome to Starfleet Fencing Club (unofficial title, Swords in Space)

So, you’ve chosen to sign up for the noble sport of fencing. First of all you need to decide: are you in this for the fun that comes from poking people with swords, or would you rather learn some more practical skills? If the latter, you may wish to look into fencing as one of your Hand-To-Hand Combat credits. This welcome session will focus on fencing purely for recreation.

Midnight Jam at the Student Union!

It's not that well-known, but back in his hell-raising Academy days, Captain James T. Kirk would sometimes sing lead with the house band at the Saturday night jam sessions over at the Starfleet Academy Student Union Cafe. Well, singing wasn't exactly what he would do, but boy, could he rock the house!

Common People - William Shatner and Joe Jackson

You'll never live like common people
You'll never do what common people do
You'll never fail like common people
You'll never watch your life slide out of view,
and dance and drink and screw
Because there's nothing else to do.

So enjoy this bit of nostalgia, dug up from the vaults. Party on, cadets!
